Read John 1:14 & Genesis 1:26 together.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
1. John 1 tells us that “The Word was in the beginning…” Who is the Word?
2. Did you notice the reference to “us” or “our” in Genesis 1:26? Why does God say “us”?
3. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were from the beginning! Did you already know this, or did you (like so many) think that Jesus and the Holy Spirit showed up first in the New Testament? Discuss what this means about God together.
Write down your thoughts about this amazing truth (whether you knew it or not!) in your Family Journal.
